Role Purpose
The Belgian Corporate team advises clients on a full range of corporate related matters, including Belgian and international transactions. Our clients include start-ups, high growth companies, owner-managed businesses, major corporates, private equity houses and financial institutions. The team is part of a wider Belgian and European team and frequently acts on deals involving our worldwide colleagues, giving our clients access to one of the largest teams in the world.
We are looking to hire a Dutch-speaking Associate with 3 to 5 years of experience, specializing in Corporate Law, to join our team in Antwerp.
Main duties and responsibilities
- You will join a team of professionals active in the field of corporate – M&A, with a strong focus on cross-border transactions, restructuring, and insurance-related corporate matters;
- You will help with the structuring, drafting and negotiation of a variety of corporate transactions (share/asset purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, subscription agreements, joint ventures);
- You will advise founders, companies, boards of directors on a wide range of corporate and restructuring matters (founding companies, advice on the corporate structure and governance, compliance issues, disputes between shareholders/directors) and provide them with on-going legal support.
About you
- You successfully obtained a Belgian master's degree in law. An additional degree or LLM in English would be a valuable asset;
- You have 3-5 years of experience working in a (Belgian or international) law firm in the field of corporate and M&A, experience in restructuring matters and corporate litigation is an asset;
- You have an excellent command of Dutch, English and a good knowledge of French;
- You have strong analytical skills and a creative mind, you wish to take initiatives and have a real interest in business life;
- You are willing to travel abroad for internal trainings and meetings;
- You are a team player with outstanding legal capabilities, entrepreneurial spirit and good communication skills.
