We are currently recruiting a Paralegal to join our Legal Delivery Centre in Brisbane. Our Australian Legal Delivery Centre sits within DLA Piper's multi-faceted 'Law&' offering which leads in providing innovative solutions and efficiencies to traditional legal work. Supporting all offices nationally, our Paralegals have exposure to a wide variety of high-quality legal work across multiple practice areas and teams. You will work in specialist teams tailored to both business needs and your personal interests.
You will be part of a team across three global hubs, working on challenging, premium matters and using innovative delivery techniques implementing the latest legal tech to create smarter solutions for clients. We offer extensive training and development, helping you grow both your legal and commercial skill sets quickly.
Main duties and responsibilities
You will work as part of a supportive team, carrying out tasks for specific practice groups. These responsibilities could include:
- Conducting discovery, document review and due diligence for high-profile and large volume matters for multi-national and globally recognised clients
- Assisting with preparing evidence at all stages of the litigation process including drafting chronologies and compiling documents for briefs to counsel
- Providing administrative support to the legal teams for large matters
- Collaborating and working closely with colleagues in the Legal Delivery Centre and across the firm nationally
- All Paralegals are encouraged to actively contribute to the development of the Centre and the services it provides
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have successfully completed a law degree and are available to commence full-time work
- Preferably have experience working with online review platforms such as RelativityOne or Nuix Discover (formerly Ringtail), although this is not essential as we will provide training for all systems
- Have a working knowledge and understanding of the laws of privilege
- Possess exceptional attention to detail and the ability to process and organise large volumes of data and forms of evidence
- Be able to grasp new instructions and tasks quickly and be flexible to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment that responds to client needs
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills
- Italian language skills highly desirable
- Be eligible to work in Australia
