Join DLA Piper’s Australian Information & Research Services team, part of our global Knowledge Department. We are a digital-first team supporting lawyers with legal and commercial research, resource management, current awareness, and research training.

 

In this role, you will collaborate nationally to enhance our company and sector analysis, help shape our research offering, develop fee earner research skills and drive continuous improvement. We are looking for someone with strong research and tech skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, who can work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

 

  • Deliver high-quality legal and commercial research via our virtual reference desk including one weekly evening shift
  • Drive the development of our commercial research service to meet growing demand across Australian offices
  • Support the Corporate Practice Group with information requirements
  • Innovate and enhance information services by leveraging emerging technologies
  • Analyse subscription usage and implement strategies to maximise ROI and engagement
  • Deliver Brisbane inductions and resource training for fee earners
  • Coach graduates and clerks on resource access and effective legal research techniques
  • Create and contribute to sector and client current awareness alerts
  • Support Brisbane purchase decisions and maintain a small print collection.

 

About you

 

  • Library/information qualification or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in a legal or professional services research/information setting
  • Expertise in legal and business research tools (e.g., Lexis, Westlaw, Debtwire, GlobalData, MergerMarket, Orbis)
  • Strong tech skills with ability to streamline workflows using Excel, SharePoint, and AI tools
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience training others
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and balance operational and project work in a fast-paced environment
