Employment Associate/Senior Associate
We wish to hire an Associate/Senior Associate with at least 3 – 6 years' post-qualification experience in Employment law. Main duties and responsibilities
You will work with our global team to drive change, open new opportunities, and accelerate growth for both our clients and our people.
You will deliver exceptional results to clients by advising on:
- Global Restructuring Projects.
- Employee Relations.
- Issues around Discrimination and Whistleblowing.
- Termination of Employment.
- Data Protection.
- Outsourcing projects and corporate transactions.
- Handling claims in the Employment Tribunal, High Court, and County Court.
- Protection of Confidentiality and other business interests.
About You
We pride ourselves on having a collaborative environment and are looking for approachable but confident lawyers with strong potential. While we do not set upper or lower limits of PQE for any of our vacancies, candidates with at least 3 to 6 years' PQE are likely to have the right level of knowledge and experience needed for this role.
The successful candidate will be highly ambitious and enthusiastic, with a desire to progress their own career from the enviable platform that DLA Piper provides. They will have a background in Employment Law and possess excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail, alongside a real focus on teamwork.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor;
- Be an employment law specialist with experience managing restructures.
- Have experience working across jurisdictions and advising international clients on multi-country projects.
- Have managed Employment Tribunal litigation up to and including hearings (Employment Tribunal advocacy is not required)
- Have one or more areas of special interest/expertise e.g., sector experience, NMW, worker status, discrimination, data privacy, industrial relations.
- Have delivered tailored client training.
- Recognise and seize opportunities for the firm, including repeat business.
- Build and develop own network of internal and external contacts.
- Be commercially astute and stays current on key legal and business news.
- Have excellent skills in communication, client relations, and team-working.
- Be aware of business development initiatives in the department and identifies ways to contribute.
- Maintain a controlled, objective, and flexible approach under pressure.
- Be proactive and innovative.
- Take responsibility for ensuring their continued learning and development in the role.
