Master Data Subject Matter Expert

Master Data Subject Matter Expert supports multiple business units and locations in the master data, provides superior customer service to clients, ensures Service Level Agreements and customer expectations are met, reports problems and suggests improvements in the processes to the Finance Operations Manager.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Drive & support the delivery of key Master Data projects and initiatives from design to implementation ensuring best practice approach, process efficiency and ongoing process review/improvement
  • Support the Master Data on championing change, and keeping the Master Data team engaged in improvement projects and initiatives
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external customers, acting as an escalation point
  • Perform all activities within agreed timelines and proactively mitigate risks of delays
  • Create, update, and maintain comprehensive process documentation
  • Handle complex customer requests and queries, providing advanced issue resolution
  • Ensure full compliance with company standards, guidelines, and audit requirements
  • Take ownership of implementing new processes within the Master Data scope and contribute to broader operational improvements
  • Mentor and support Senior Specialists in their development
  • Support the Manager with daily operational and strategic tasks


About you

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and be fluent in English
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of a global law firms Master Data activities and processes
  • Ability to engage teams and sell the benefits of planned change
  • Be a self-starter, who is able to work on their own initiative as well as being part of a virtual team
  • Experience of working on large scale, multi-location change initiatives within a professional services environment
  • Ability to build and maintain strong and positive relationships with the international teams
  • Experience of delivering automation/technology in ticketing, workflow or system solutions
  • Experience with working and communicating with non-finance departments/functions
  • Advanced Excel skills, Power Query/PowerBi as a strong asset
